Serena Williams: A Case Study on Maternal Medicine

Serena Williams was 8 weeks pregnant during her 2017 Australian Open win and gave birth to her daughter in 2017. After she gave birth, she had life-threatening complications, that she would not have survived without advocating for herself.

Unjust Medicine

Women of color are more likely to be affected by the corrupt idea that race has any basis in science. But after many years, why aren't we correcting this? How does a racist history of systematic oppression still play into the myth that black patients are different from white patients, and what can we do to correct these wrong ideas?

Race is NOT biological.

Race has no place in making medical decisions for life saving treatments.
